What is the Digital Nomad Visa?

It is a residence permit (officially the "residence authorisation for international teleworkers") for people who work remotely for companies or clients outside Spain. It was introduced by the Startups Law in 2023. It lets you live in Spain legally, include your family and access the special tax regime (Beckham).

What are the main requirements?

Be a non-EU citizen, work remotely for companies or clients mostly outside Spain (at most around 20% of income from Spanish companies), show sufficient income (200% of the minimum wage, around €2,850/month depending on the current rate), a work or professional relationship of at least 3 months, a university degree or 3+ years of experience, private health insurance and a clean criminal record. Consulate or UGE? What's the difference?

They are the two ways to apply. Consulate: you apply from your country (you enter with a 1-year visa and then renew in Spain). UGE (Large Business Unit): if you are already in Spain legally (for example, as a tourist), you apply for the authorisation here. Our test detects your situation and tells you the right route.

How long does it last and can I renew it?

Yes. Via UGE it is granted for up to 3 years; via consulate you enter with 1 year and then renew. It is renewable and, over time, opens the door to long-term residence.

How long does it take to be resolved?

Accepted Answer

Via UGE, 20 working days from a complete file (with positive administrative silence). Via consulate, usually 1 to 3 months. That is why it pays to prepare your documents well from the start.

Can I include my family?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can include your spouse or partner and dependent children in the same application. In your dashboard you add their details and we prepare their documents too.

What does the ApplySpainVisa service include?

Are you lawyers or an official body?

No. ApplySpainVisa is an independent preparation and self-service tool. We are not a law firm or a public body, and we are not affiliated with the Government of Spain. The decision is always made by the competent authorities.

What if the test says I'm not eligible?

Accepted Answer

The test is free, so you risk nothing. And if you are missing a requirement, we do not leave you out: we show you exactly what is missing and a plan to meet it.

What happens if my visa is refused?

You can file an appeal (administrative or judicial). For that we recommend an immigration lawyer; ApplySpainVisa does not handle appeals or represent you before the authorities.

What documents do I need?

It depends on your route and profile (passport, criminal record certificate, health insurance, proof of income, contract(s), degree, etc.). You don't have to guess: when you buy, your dashboard generates the exact checklist for your case, with how to get each document.

Can I get a refund?
